Start with the basics.
Write down your name, your date of birth, your place of birth.
Then write down your parents’ information. And then write down the same thing for as much as you know of your grandparents. And then the research begins.
Some people use a Family Grouping Sheet to start this process.
Others use a Pedigree Chart for organization of the data.
You may also wish to jump straight to an electronic format using software such as Personal Ancestral File or pay for use programs.
