Access to historical and recent health and medical records in British Columbia.

The British Columbia Archives does have records which contain medical information. Some may be restricted for conservation reasons or under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, for example the Tranquille Sanatorium (Tuberculosis) records -Series GR-2654 and Series GR-0108.

A few finding aids for health records are on-line linked in the BC Archives catalogue, for instance, for Series GR-3019 – Provincial mental hospital registers (including Crease Clinic of Psychological Medicine and the Provincial Mental Hospital, Esssondale, later Riverview Hospital and for the Tranquille records noted above.
