Surrey Libraries’ Ancestry access FREE from home for Surrey residents!

Family historians in Surrey can now access Surrey Libraries’ Ancestry account for FREE from their homes.  Those who want to log in from home must:

(1) have a Surrey Libraries card

(2) live in Surrey (see below if you live in Surrey but don’t have a card)

(3) access through our website:  https://www.surreylibraries.ca/services/family-history

Access to this has been temporarily expanded to library cardholders working remotely, courtesy of ProQuest and its partner Ancestry.  Huge thanks to them.

If you live in Surrey, or have a business in Surrey, you can obtain a free temporary online access card by filling out this online form here:  https://www.surreylibraries.ca/sign-library-card-home-0

If you don’t live in Surrey but do have a Surrey card, I’m sorry to say our remote access licensing with the database companies probably won’t allow you to access our account remotely but do check with your local library system, as ProQuest/Ancestry is extending this to most public libraries that have an Ancestry account.

Happy searching.  Stay well.

Best regards

Carmen
