HOURS -Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday from 10am – 3pm year round, but closed for Statutory holidays if they fall on those days and on long weekends the Library is closed on Saturday when there is a Monday holiday.

The BCGS Walter Draycott Library and Resource Centre is staffed by volunteers who will help visitors search for resources at the site, but will not do any research. All visitors will be asked to sign in. Members, please remember your membership card must be shown.  Group visits should be arranged in advance; please contact the Library Administrator.

FamilySearch Affiliation – The BCGS Walter Draycott Library is a FamilySearch Family History Library Affiliate library. Although you can no longer order films from the FHL, some digitized images cannot be opened at home but can be seen at the BCGS library due to our affiliate status. Some images however are only accessible still from Family Search facilities.

As of September 2017, The Family History Library – Familysearch – has discontinued loaning copies of microfilms.

The BCGS Library and Resource Centre has well over 16,000 worldwide publication titles, plus numerous census records on microformats, tapes and CDs, and a number of unique research resources for British Columbia and also for Quebec and Sweden. All these are available for use free by members and at the nominal charge of $5.00 a day for non members. (And if a visitor decides to join the BCGS that day, the charge will be credited towards the membership fee.)

There is a lunchroom at the Library and restaurants nearby.

American Ancestors (New England Historic Genealogical Society)

American Ancestors on-line databases include a wide array of indexes and records for US resources, especially for the New England area, but not limited to New England.
