B.C. Pioneers
B.C. Pioneer Registry
In the 1990s, the BC Genealogical Society began to collect information about early pioneers in British Columbia. Members were encouraged to submit information about their pioneer ancestors - initially, the registry included pioneers who had arrived in BC prior to 1900. This has been expanded to 1925.
The BC Pioneer Registry now contains the names of over 3,800 individuals and their families who settled in BC and contributed to the building of our province. You can check the registry by clicking on the button below.
If you see a name that interests you, please contact our BC Research team (queryrequest@bcgs.ca) to request further information. This will be provided free of charge to BCGS members. Non-members will be asked to pay a research fee of $15 for any additional information.
Pioneer Registry Submissions
The Pioneer Registry now accepts submission, from BCGS Members, for any pioneer who arrived in British Columbia prior to 1925.
The button below takes you to the Members’ Resources page. Select BC Pioneers to access the index and a link to the submissions. You will be required to log in to access BC Pioneers and the submission form.
