Presented by Kathy Jones, a genealogist from the BC Genealogical Society.
Legacy Family Tree has been around for over two decades. Known for its detailed data entry options, robust charting, and strong sourcing tools, Legacy quickly became a favorite among serious genealogists. Over the years it continually improves.
This is a very easy program to use, having many different fill-in screens to make it convenient for all your data entry.
It has the power to do many functions of genealogy searching well. You can store almost unimaginable amounts of data in it, including all sorts of digital media such as photographs, audio and video files, scanned documents, notes, sets of parents, spouses, and conflicting dates. Included in the software is a built-in “SourceWriter” function. You tell it whether you are entering the data for a book, an article, online data, or any other source type, and it presents you with a template that you fill in.
If you are a beginner, you will find the Legacy genealogy software to be an easy program to learn. If you are an expert, you will constantly find powerful functions to make your genealogy tasks easy as it will carry you through your genealogy research from the early days on.
